Village of Anmore shares tips for sorting Halloween pumpkins and candy wrappers

The Village of Anmore says pumpkins go in the green bin and candy wrappers can go to Recycle BC depots or London Drugs as flexible plastics.

The Village of Anmore posted guidance on November 2 for sorting Halloween leftovers. Pumpkins go in the green bin, free of candles, lights, decorations, paint and glitter, and without plastic bags. Large pumpkins should be chopped so the lid closes securely. Many crinkly candy wrappers can be taken to participating Recycle BC depots or London Drugs as flexible plastics; some packaging isn't accepted. Carts should be set out Friday morning between 5:30 and 7 a.m. and not left out overnight, as they can attract wildlife. Pumpkins and food waste can also be dropped off free at 995 United Boulevard.
